CHECK FEET regularly, and trim with care
CHECK TEETH regularly - worn teeth can result in malnutrition, and premature death
CHECK FOR WORM egg count, regularly, and only drench if necessary
FLUKE is a fatal disorder, and dosing should be administered on vet advice if sample tests are positive
PRELIMINARY VACCINATIONS within 6 weeks of birth should be followed up by annual boosters
ADMINISTER FLY-STRIKE and other topical treatments
IN "TICK AREAS", administer effective treatments - Lymes disease is fatal, there is no cure, and it is a painful, horrible death
FEED SUPPLEMENT with correct produce / feeds if forage / pasture are poor
KEEP A MEDICINE / FIRST AID bag and supplies
REGISTER with a Farm Vet
IF BREEDING, consider registering stock with RBST
Sell STOCK only to knowledgeable buyers, and consider taking up references
NEVER turn your back on a Ram
DO NOT leave children unsupervised
CONSIDER TRAINING - SAC run courses - can save on Vet bills, and prevent losses and unnecessary suffering
SHEEP ARE PREY ANIMALS, act quickly to deal with ailments / injuries, and TAKE PROFESSIONAL ADVICE WITHOUT DELAY
DONT GET IN BOTHER

REGISTER with Animal Health
DUAL TAGGING including an electronic tag are required by Law
INSURE your flock! - including third party liability - buy now or "pay later"
OBSERVE "Movement /transport Regulations"
APPLY FOR A TRANSPORT PERMIT if necessary
BEWARE OF DISEASES that can transmit to humans, and take precautions - "prevention is better than cure" - Lymes disease, Orf, and worse maladies

A MEDICINE BOOK / record requires to be kept for 5 years
